At our hotel in Wichita Falls, TX we decided to sleep in. Lana and I slept till about 9:15, while Alex slept till 10:30 since he did all the driving the night before. We took our time getting up and headed out about 11. Here is a frozen waterfall we saw as we left our hotel.
We went to Denny's for a huge breakfast. Lana ate soo well, eating fruit, eggs, and pancakes. We finally got back on the road about 12 noon. The roads were great all day, dry and clear. I guess this part of Texas is more prepared for this type of weather, or hadn't gotten the snow like the Dallas area. We decided to take a break in Amarillo and Lana enjoyed playing at the Westgate Mall.
Lana did not want to leave the play area, but we had her exercise by walking to the food court for an early dinner and then walking all the way back to the entrance, it was quite a walk. We got back on the road about 5 pm. Lana did great in the car. She was either sleeping or playing with her hat, boots, jacket, and blanket.
We drove till about 10 pm and stopped in Trinidad, CO. We got a hotel room for the night and had to sneak Impala in again. At both hotels we got a luggage cart and put the cat carrier and litter box on the bottom and covered them up with blankets. Then we piled the rest of our luggage on top and made our way to our room. Thank goodness Impala didn't make a noise either time and he went on undetected. Impala loved being in the room being able to roam around, but he traveled well in the car going from Alex, to my lap to lay down or look out the window. We couldn't let him go onto Lana because she would say, "No, no, no!"
